Philippines launched stricter Toy and Game Safety Labeling Act

Toy and Game Safety Labeling Act of 2012 was transmitted to the Philippines president for signature on by Philippines congress recently.

Warnings with main hazard, age label etc., in packaging Label of several toys and games listed below are specified in this act.

1. The toy or game intended for use of children below 14 years includes a small part;

2. Latex balloon, balls, marbles;

3. In the case of toys or games containing latex balloons, balls, marbles.

Toys or games that do not in compliance with the requirements of this Act shall be withdrawn from the market. Any person who shall violate any provision of this Act shall be subject to a fine of not less than Ten thousand pesos (P10,000.00) but not more than Fifty thousand pesos (P50,000.00) or imprisonment of not less than three (3) months but not more than two (2) years, or both, at the discretion of the court.

This Act shall take effect 15 days after its publication.
