Spain notified women’s footwear with illegal content of PCP

Recently, Spain notified a batch of women’s footwear from China for them contain 0.144 mg/kg pentachlorophenol (PCP) higher than the limit of 0.05mg/kg under the national standard UNE 59950. In accordance with the notification, the women’s footwears engaged in the notification are refused to be imported at border.

PCP has been used as a herbicide, insecticide, fungicide, algaecide, and disinfectant, and may be used in field of leather, masonry, wood preservation, cooling tower water, rope, and paper mills.
